WHO WE ARE
Downtown Muncy Inc. is a volunteer run nonprofit focused on keeping downtown Muncy active, welcoming, and economically healthy. We work alongside local businesses, residents, and partners to support growth while still protecting the historic character that makes this place feel like home.
Some of our work is visible: events, storefront activity, people downtown. Other parts happen behind the scenes: planning, coordination, permits, partnerships, and long term projects. All of it is about helping downtown Muncy function better today while setting it up for what comes next.
Help the Dogs
Although our focus is on Downtown Muncy, we are here for the Greater Muncy community as well! By all of 17756 working together, we will be able to accomplish so much more for our entire community!
One of our goals to have operational by Spring, is a community dog park. Our team has located an ideal spot at the former soccer field off of East Mechanic Street, in Muncy Creek Township. Are hopes are for Muncy Creek Township and The Muncy Borough to partner on this project for the Greater Muncy community to enjoy!
WHAT WE DO
Business Development
We support local businesses and work to attract new ones to downtown. That includes promotion, coordination, and helping connect people with the right resources to keep storefronts active and sustainable.
Impact Planning
Downtown vitality doesn’t happen by accident. We take part in planning efforts that focus on long-term growth, resiliency, and infrastructure — looking at what downtown needs now and what it will need years from now.
Growth Strategy
We pay attention to how Muncy is changing and where opportunities exist. Our role is to help create the conditions for responsible growth that benefits businesses, residents, and visitors alike.
Partnerships
Most progress happens through collaboration. We work with business owners, volunteers, nonprofits, the Borough, schools, and regional partners to move ideas forward and solve practical challenges together.
Preservation
Muncy’s historic character matters. We support preservation efforts and work with local and regional partners to maintain and improve downtown buildings, streets, and public spaces in ways that respect the town’s history.
Recreation
Outdoor access is one of Muncy’s strengths. We support projects and partnerships that connect downtown to recreation, trails, and public spaces — helping make the area more accessible and enjoyable for everyone.
Provide a helping hand
Membership is one of the simplest ways to support the work we do downtown. Member contributions help fund events, promotion, planning efforts, and ongoing improvements that keep downtown Muncy active and welcoming.
